That seems like a sweet deal to me. So I would say you stole it.
If you can get the 5ft bush hog for nothing use it. I do not see any reason it will not run it. The only issue is the weight. The tractor does not weigh very much so you will definately need to put some weight on the front. I and many others have run 5ft bush hogs on ford 8n's no problem. So I do not see any reason a 15 pto hp desiel would not run a 5 footer. Ideally you would want a 4ft but 5ft would be fine in my opinion.

It'll run the 5' cutter. If it is a medium or heavy duty hog you'll definitely want the weight on the front. I run a light duty 5' hog on my 1250lb. tractor with an additional 150lbs on the front, 15 PTO HP... works just fine for me.

I'd say you got an outstanding deal. I would have paid that in a heartbeat.

I also think the 5 ft hog would be too big. Stick with the 4 footer.

I don't know what all that means... but I'll tell ya that it'll run a 5' cutter. Sure a 4' would be a better match... but if I could get a 5' for free or buy a 4'..... I'll take the 5' any day. Sure you might have to go a bit slower... I know my little 18hp/15 PTO hp tractor will run one so I'm sure the B1750 will.
