Kubota 7030, Long Landtrac 4700
I have a Long LandTrac 4700, has a Mitsubishi 4cyl diesel and a Mitsubishi tranmission. I understand they were about the same as the Montana and now the LS. Any way to check the history of LS? I have been happy with the tractor but it is getting hard to get parts, just wonder if any will interchange with the LS?

I see LS uses a stub axel instead of plantary gearing in the fronts until you get to 80-100 horse tractors. Same with my LandTrac and I have broken 2 axels. Just wondering if they have fixed that weak point..... also had to replace the reverser gears in the shuttle. Real pain to seperate the tractor... got to take all the tin off.

Any dealers out there that can help me?

Bill

Short answer is yes, LS probably built your tractor, but a typical LS dealer probably won’t be able to order parts for your tractor.

From Wikipedia:

“Tractors have been sold under GoldStar, Fiat-GoldStar, LG, LG-Fiat, LG-New Holland, LS and LS-New Holland names in South Korea. In North America, they have been sold as LG Montana, Montana, Farmtrac LandTrac, LongAgri LandTrac, McCormick Tractors and Landini. LS Tractors is an engineering company. It is a division of LS Cable in South Korea. The group was originally part of the LG conglomeration, and was known as LG Tractors and LG Cable, respectively.

LS is associated with Mitsubishi tractors of Japan for technology, and many tractors are based on Mitsubishi designs, as well as use Mitsubishi engines. New Holland Ag also imports LS tractors to resell as LS-New Holland. (They originally had agreements with Fiat, which purchased New Holland. New Holland is a division of CNH Global).

LS formerly supplied base models for Montana Tractors which were then assembled in North America; and sold under the Montana brand name. This agreement ended when LS decided to begin their own imports and dealer network in 2009. They used to build for Farmtrac, a division of Escorts Agri of India, for sale in North America; and for TAFE Tractors of India also for sale in North America.

The part about LS using mostly Mitsubishi engines is outdated though. LS now builds the majority of their engines in house and are one of the few manufacturers that build their own engines.

Thank you very much. Ours is a LongAgri LandTrac. It has been a pretty good tractor, but should have bought a Utility instead of a Compact. Not rugged enough for what I do with it.

Thanks again,

Bill
