I wanted to dig out all the material that built up around the foundation of my house when the dug the hole for the basement. There are several reasons 1) is so the soil doesn't run off into the new pool. 2) I want all my fence on level instead of folowing the landscape ( I'm anel like that ) 3) I am goin to build a deck over this area and I want all the nice soil that is there to use somewere else

This is after the tractor did the bulk of the material removal. I had to lever out some rather large stone but it went pretty well for the most part. The new 800 pound Ballast drum I made a few weeks ago worked out great. It doesn't make the tractor any bigger so maneuvering it around is like it isn't even there

After the tractor did its job it was my turn. I broke out the shovels and the rakes and did all the finish work by hand. All those years working in the crop fields as a kid made me pretty good with a rake. I must have a 1/2 dozen different kinds but it makes shot work of leveling out the material and sifting what I don't want left behind

This is the end around the side of my garage. I wanted to dig this hill out because of the fence and the level plain I want it to run on and also to harvest the loom. The last picture is the pile of loom I took from beside the garage. I did this Saturday and Sunday I did the back of the house. I have a bigger pile from Sundays work. When they dig the hole for the pool I want that soil piled up over the fence there. I have a very low area near the tree line were the Dear lay in the tall grass. I want to fill that in and seed it for pasture

Hey Timber,
You've been a busy guy! That work sure came out neat and clean...bet you're happy with it. And the photos are great too. Sure is easy to click on them to view. Everything around your place is so green.

Yea I still have a lot to do. The pool got held up with permit and conservation red tape but it has bought me some time so I don't mind. We have had a lot of rain this year so things have been very green plus I have a lot of wetland so water is close to the surface anyway. It is getting cool at night now though so the autumn leaf season should be only 4 weeks or so off. I have really got the hang of posting those clickable links. I went and did the upgrade at Photobucket too. 25 bucks a year is nothing for the extra bandwidth and no ads. Thanks again for your help on that. I love posting pictures, should have been a photographer lol

Yes, posting pictures makes a world of difference in the quality of your thread too (IMO) It provides added details to your narrations. As they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words."

Hi Timber,

Looks good! I'm always suprised at how much I appreciate smooth dirt. Before I had my tractor, I never even thought about it, but now that I've spent untold hours smoothing dirt, I can really apreciate a job well done.

Eddie
