Ouch... I just broke the little tab on my hood of my BX. Stupid me was trying to force it back on and realized I didn't have the knob loose enough until... CRACK! :hissyfit:
This will definitely be a super glue job though and I can't imagine what an entire hood would cost if the light is $300!

I would make a metal version of the broken piece that goes back to the side of the hood and pop rivet it on or make a plastic overlay for the whole section and epoxy it on. Glue wont hold in that break.
Alternatively, get a fender washer (or two), put it under the knob and use that to "grab" the un-broken part of the bracket (either one on top, or two to sandwich it).

That sucks! I don't know if super glue is going to be a good repair for that - especially with all the vibrations. I would make a backer-plate out of aluminum and pop rivet it to the broken piece(s). Of course, that's just my opinion!
Oops! Looks like you responded before I finished typing. I do agree with your response also. Either way, I think he's better off with a patch plate than the SG.

I surely don't mean to hijack this thread... I was only trying to empathize with the OP. I realize the SG isn't the permanent answer but the tab is just in compression so I just need it to support the knob when it is tightened down. I am actually in the adhesives business so I appreciate its abilities. Oh well.
There once was a time when car headlights were large, round, fit on any car and cost maybe $10. Then we got little round ones, price up to $15 each and you needed 4 instead of 2, followed by rectangular types, both large and small and prices at $20 per. Now you have to get a swoopy shaped built-in lens assembly that costs a house payment, with a replacement bulb that's $30-50. I think I see a trend here... somone's making money on this stuff and wants to perfect the technique.

I assume the headlight still works. If so, I also would leave it alone. But, thinking about this, I realize I probably have never used my headlights. In summer, it stays light enough all day to get done what I need to get done. In winter, I don't use the tractor to snow plow so, don't need it when dark. Anyway, good luck.
