Mike, where abouts do you live? I have a neighbor with the last name Sample and just met another guy from PA with the last name of Sample the other day.

Soundguy, here are a couple pics of my main plow setup. It is the 7710-II pulling a semi-mount, 4-16 MF 880 plow with hydraulic resets. The pics are not the greatest as I was using my camera phone (needed to unhook the plow and return to the field so I didn't have much time).

Guess tractor manufacturers are making smaller 'HPs' now.. Grin.

Actually.. .. drawbar is the more important # when it comes to turning sod..

8n
Drawbar (rated): 23.16 hp [17.3 kW]
PTO (rated): 27.32 hp

tc33
PTO (rated): 29 hp [21.6 kW]

I'd recon your's being an HST.. it probably takes a hit inthe drawbar HP department depending on the relief setup. Kinda sad that it woun't pull 2 bottoms when a 50-60 year old smaller tractor will... thus Looks like an old 8n probabbly has a slightly larger 'set' than the 33 does. Add to that a N has draft control... Comes in handy when plowing..

ya im not really happy with my relief setup but i have yet to plumb a gauge inline to see what its set to.

I was told i could likely pull 2-14's but most agreed that was in ground that had been plowed before and on plows that were setup right. Neither of which i had this spring

In virgin sod the other issue i had was it was to hard to pull in 2nd range but top speed in 1st range is at the very bottom of how "Fast" you need to pull to get it to flip the sod right.

Im confident that with more practice (proper setup) ill do better next year. :p

(i will say it did get easyer to pull as my setup got closer to what is was correct....as well as the plows shinning up)
