he,he,he,he,he,he,he......sorry.....can't help it......I always find it funny to see somebody else's tractor stuck in the muck BIG time !! :p

Good that it wasn't too much of a hassle getting her out.

Thanks for the excellent photo.

Hmm.... the phrase "too wet to plow" somehow comes to mind:eek:

The 7710 plowed thru this area just fine three days before the TN went thru. If it wasn't in the shop it would have been on the disc and would have went thru this spot with out any trouble either. The problem is the TN didn't have the horses to power thru and I had to downshift. Once you stop and shift down you are in trouble as the tractor wants to dig. The problem was the right front disc gang sank and that is what created this problem. I could have unhooked the disc and drove the tractor out but I was too lazy and just called in the other tractor. This field is very dry except for a 20 yard strip in the middle which is a low spot. I guess the correct thing would be to say the disc is stuck as the tractor could move forward and backward 15-20 feet with ease. It just couldn't pull the right disc gang thru a wall of dirt.

I posted this picture for fun, not to be critiqued as it is easy to tell others what they should or shouldn't do when they have no idea what the area is like.

I was not too happy with the picture as my camera phone is junk but it worked and I had to clean the picture up a lot to make it presentable to post. I just don't take my good camera to the field very often:rolleyes: I have been stuck a lot worse in the past. It usually comes right after the owner tells me "this field is tiled and you won't have any trouble". Once its buried you get "oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about this one spot"

Its all good though:)

A 27 hp ford N will pull 2-12 or 2-14

A 40 ish hp tractor should snatch up to 3-14 in most soils.. that would be equivalent to a ford 8XX or 4000...

Don't want to steal anyone's thread here but I have a question about what hp can pull how many bottoms? I am using a 3ph 2bt 12 in plow with my 45 hp tractor and I can pull it in 2 wd. Any thoughts about if I can pull a 3 bt 12 or 14 in plow? My ground is flinty with a heavy viney sod. There are lots of older 3 bt plows for sale but I don't want to make the jump to a bigger plow if my tractor is not going to be able to pull it. Thanks.

I am not a big fan of Aunt Millie's, they are usually way to busy for my liking. Sullivan's on Rt 20 in Fredonia is more my style. Just a nice old style hamburger and ice cream shop.:)

Robert, I'll give Sullivan's a try when we are that way next. Usually up for horse shows at Stagecoach during the summer. Thanks, Slim
