Is it really as bad as the label warnings suggest? Remove contaminated clothing, wash hands for 15 minutes.

I bought some of this last fall and put some on the plug for my trailer. It works great. The plug on both ends looks good.

You read the directions ?? That may mean a two week TBN suspension !:laughing:

I've used it over the years, bare fingers of course 'cause who needs to read the label? :D

What is it supposed to do to a person? Maybe that would explain some things :confused2:
Dave.

I second, um err, eighth that on the Mercury?

The big problem I see with the dielectric grease is that you will have to wear rubber gloves when you plug in power cords to avoid electrocution with the increased conductivity of your fingertips.

Dielectric grease by definition is NOT conductive and sometimes that causes problems if the connector wiping pressure does not cut through it.

i agree.

according to What Is Dielectric Grease?

Dielectric grease is a non-conductive, silicone grease designed to seal out moisture and, therefore, prevent corrosion on electrical connectors. Being non-conductive, it does not enhance the flow of electrical current. This property makes it an ideal lubricant and sealant for the rubber portions of electrical connectors.

We usta do the mercury trick with pennies to make them into dimes.....We were also given asbestos paste in art class at school to make figurines. (same stuff the pipe wrappers used on steam pipe)
As an apprentice I worked in a Pitsburg Paint factory while it was being built. One week they came to spray the steel beams with asbestos. We were given the option of working while they did it, or go home with no pay. By the time I quit the trade I was having trouble buying asbestos for flange gaskets. Now I can't find any more sheets of ridgid asbestos to use around my welding projects.....

Could you imagine the problems if it was conductive? How many tail light bulbs are covered in the stuff?

Heart attack at 48, then surgery. Went back to work for 6 months but woke up in intensive care one day. The next time it happened I packed up my tools (and "type A") then started a new life. That was 19 years ago, been having a ball since.
