That reminds of what a tanker driver did here in 2002. He came down this long hill too fast, rounded a sharp curve and his truck tipper over losing hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel before it could be contained by fire dept. The blacktop road (US-41) was so messed up, the state had to call in a construction crew to mill the (3 lanes) surface and pave about 1000 ft of road. I would bet that driver is out of a job today. Per the newspaper he was ticketed for speeding and careless driving + the company was going to have pay all cleanup and repair costs.

I doubt any insurance company would pay as it was driver negligence.

The reason the decided to mill off a couple inches of blacktop was (public safety) that the diesel fuel had to be contained on the roadbed with sand bags for several hours till a clean up crew arrived on the scene. That made the curve very slippery.

My Dad is a long time Mopar/Dodge parts guy. The shop he works at gets Ram/Cummins pickups in here and there, that have had gas pumped instead of diesel. Here in Calif, it costs over $600 just to dispose of the diesel/gas mix. That is just disposal, and does not count repairs ect.

Well.. I haven't heard from anyone yet.. but I'm sure some people had to be towed.. car rental.. if I don't hear anything this week.. I'll be on the phone bending some ears. Thanks guys!

If the bill is large.. I'd be very surprised if the GL carrier for the trucking company wasn't the one footing the bill.
