Diesel $1 more per gallon than gas!

Did I miss something?? Diesel just hit $3.80 a gallon here in Florida and gas is $2.81.

I must have missed something on the news, but I do know Diesel and gas come from the same crude oil. Right? I understand natural gas issues, but this one has me flustered.

Diesel is 2.89 to 3.24 and gas is 2.86 to 2.95 in these parts.

Diesel in MA is 2.99. Regular gas is now at 2.89.

What you might be experiencing is the start of the home heating oil crunch. If it's a cold winter in the NE, expect these prices to double.

bullk storage for fuel, you betcha. Kinda too late, you betcha too, but, better late than never. Keep in mind, you can't store fuel enough forever, nor should you, keep enough to winter a spell, no more, no less. 35 gals for me takes me a little over a month and a half. cheers. -art

Diesel in SW Atlanta was 3.29(I believe) and gas was 2.99 this morning.

Detroit this afternoon, 3.09 diesel and 2.99 gas as well.... Seems like things are evening out around the country a bit for gas but its hit or miss on diesel I guess.

out in this part on MA (western) gas is about 2.69 to 2.71..diesel is back up to 3.00 per gallon..

It's 2.79 to 3.29 here and gas is around 2.99. One station near me went from 2.99 to 3.29 over night. They have us by the short hairs /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Yup, when the first hard freeze hits New England, we'll be lucky if we even have any diesel fuel to purchase no matter what the cost.... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Often depends on the tax. In Italy, diesel used to run about $2 to $3 less per gallon than gasoline. They had a tax on diesel cars when you bought them though.

Here in Va, diesel and regular run neck and neck about the same. Off road is less, because of less tax. Don't use it because I don't like the dye nor the added sulfur.

Now that is pretty far out there. BONG....Just like gas was hard to find 1 month ago. Nothing changed around here. There will be plenty of diesel etc. The price always goes up about 25 cents per gallon here in New England...nothing new here. It should start to go up once the winter fuel is needed.

I highly doubt that is going to happen. Diesel literally makes this country run. If there is that kind of a shortage and that high of prices this economy would hit inflationary #'s only recently seen in the late 70's and early 80's and would fall like a rock.
