Diesel $1 more per gallon than gas!

So your both thinking that the people relying on fuel oil in the Northeast to keep them warm this winter will all be freezing in their houses because all the middle distillates will be reserved for transportation and agricultural use?

Based on since I live here, it will be business as normal around here. It again was like some people where saying gas would be hard to find last month, yea right. You could not even tell outisde of higher prices. There will be plenty of oil/diesel. The price will be some what higher then last year (normal).

The fact that diesel prices have risen 150% during the last year due to scaricity means that it will not rise anymore and will in fact become much more plentiful?

Joe, I saw the same (worse) thing. I drove from 350 miles Sunday. I filled up in Uvalde at $2.759D. Saw many other places in that price range. Many others went as high as $3.399. Gas was around $2.70(87). I pull off the freeway to make the last 5 mile leg to my house. The Wal-mart was $2.799(D) and $2.699(87). Less than a mile down the road at a Shell was $3.999(D). That correct $1.20 a gallon difference in diesel in one mile. The difference was still there yesterday evening on my was home from work.

Diesel risen 150% in the last year??? Not here. It was about $2.10 to 2.30 last year in dec. Now it is just $3.00.

Home heating oil was $1.75 tops last year. It is now 2.15 to 2.40

Plus I do not have anything diesel except for my BX.

I do not know where the 150% came from but I have not see that increase since I have used diesel.

Hmm, diesel here has risen 150% in the last year. Does that mean it should fall an equal amount next year as much more becomes available?

No clue..All I am saying is that your 150% is incorrect for my part of MA. Also weird since our taxes are more in MA then FL. Now if you have higher fuel price, have fun.

Your 150% would be true if back to 2002; when I had my Powerchoke..

Diesel was again 2.20 last Dec. It is now only 80 cents more or 63%.

Again I got rid of my Powerchoke since back in 2002 since it was too much back then.

Just to add another $0.01 worth of info, here in Alberta, diesel is currently about $0.10/litre cheaper than gasoline (about $0.90/L vs. $1.00/L), which is a narrower difference than usual. As far as I know, diesel has never been more than gasoline and has typically been quite significantly cheaper. That, along with the 70-80 mpg it gets, is why I want a Smart car /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just interesting to note the regional differences in price.

Diesel here went up at about the same pase as gas did.
Gas has declined but the diesel price hasn't kept pace with the gas drop.

Gas has dropped from 3.09 to 2.78 but diesel is still 3.29 &
3.09 except for one station at 2.96.
