Diesel and kerosene 50/50 mix?

It’s all marketing and packaging. That’s why I buy all my additives separately and dose each one accordingly. It’s a little more inconvenient measuring out into small bottles, but it’s a reasonable trade off in my opinion.

What do you typically use/mix?

280mL 2-EHN and 150mL XL for 70L of fuel.

Sure glad I don't have to run any of that witch craft in my diesel...

I just buy good fuel in the first place, and I've NEVER had even one problem in all the years I've owned diesel equipment...

Poor lubricity and low cetane number are well documented and well known issues with North American diesel fuel. So, it’s hardly witch craft. I understand that not everyone has seen the value in additives, but I think we should respect the perspective of those who do.

Well, I'm betting lots of guys here use that stuff, because they keep being told here that they have too... I just don't believe they do...

I don't use any, my neighbors don't use any nor does my brother. And not ONE of us had had any problems.

Yet, I know several people who have had failed injectors, pumps, and DPFs. So everyone has examples to the contrary.

and I had a injection pump fail on a pu one time... I took the pump to a rebuild place, he opened it up right while I was there and blurted out, "you been using Power Service".....and I had!

So ended my affair with power service!!

I told this story before, so I didn't just dream this up!

I’m not trying to discount your experience. Over the years PS has changed what they declare to be their ingredients several times. Now however, Cummins officially recommends PS.

What can’t be argued is that the cetane minimums here in the US as well as the lubricity values are very different than those in many other parts of the world. Whether you feel they need to be addressed for better performance or longer engine life is up to you. I use additives on my Duramax trucks as well as my tractor and used to on my generator (switched to propane now for that so don’t anymore).

Unfortunately, there is evidence that there are additives out there that actually make the fuel properties worse. This gives all additives a bad name.
