Why is the additive most popular at truck stops necessarily the best for tractors? When I look at the use, I see two completely different conditions.

Over the road trucks use diesel fast, probably consume a tank full every two days or so, maybe faster. If you aren't moving, you aren't making money. Our tractors sit with the same fuel in them for months -- a completely different situation.

I don't think Power Service makes any claims about algae protection.....they do sell a specific product for that but it doesn't have the other additives.
Don't get me wrong I use and like Power Service but I use Biobor for microbe protection.

That's how I understand it too. I use the white PS and also add Biokleen biocide in my 300 gallon tank.

Short answer - nope. It's "off-road" diesel fuel - it's dyed red to make it easier for violations to be prosecuted. For agricultural use or home heating.

Dry Gas is alcohol based and almost nobody recommends alcohol in diesel as a general rule.

I been lookn at this stuff, powerboost.gosyntek.com Claims are quarter ounce treats 20 gallons. Diesel or gas Fuel treatment, not just additive they claim. Interesting.... EPA approved, Stabilizer, cetane boost, lower flash point, less fuel consumption. everything but anti-gel

Exactly the same as it was before the RED DYE was put in the fuel.

After reading the attached test, I've switched from P.S. to Opti-Lube XPD. I don't think I actually noticed any difference, except what I precieved as an improvement. I use ULSD fom the local gas station, so I am getting the various seasonal additives/blends anyway. I also keep my tractor in my drive in/out basement so it does not see start-up temps below 65 deg. Maybe when my son inherits my BX-24 it will run as good then as it does now.
