Do you folks use any additive to your tracotr fuel or do you use straight #2 diesel fuel (like for a car)?

The last tractor I used on any regular basis needed an additive to replace the sulphur that was taken out of car diesel fuel. Is this not necessary for newer Kubotas?

Thanks!

I use Power Service fuel conditioner but mostly to prevent gelling in the winter.

during the summer months..I use no additive at all..but in the winter months here in New Hampshire..around about October..I will cut my diesel by adding kerosene to the fuel..keeps it from jelling..once I am sure the fuel stations have cut their supply..I no longer add kerosene to my fuel..kerosene will not hurt the motor on my B7500..in fact..it can run on straight kerosene

I run my F2400 on diesel fuel right out of the pump at the corner store all year around and have never had a problem.

Yes the same deisel you would put in a car is what you can put in your tractor. I would suggest you use the "off road" deisel it is about 10 cents cheaper. You should be able to find plenty of stations that sell it.

Last year our diesel fuel was jelling during an extended freeze in our diesel truck. Stanadyne did the trick. I've carried over using it in the summer months. I get better mileage in our truck over summer and winter, no fuel jelling, and we seem to get better overall performance.

Look through this page and those associated with it at:

Likewise, I've used Stanadyne in my diesels and been extremely happy with it. No jelling at all...and we have some wicked winters. My only complaint about the stuff is I've been unable to find a source except for the annual farm and yard show in Barre, VT. So I'm stuck buying it by the case once a year. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif
