Not only did you fab up a real nice fueling system but you also disproved the theory that it's impossible to cut any propane tank without being blown to bits. :D Thank you for not first asking if it is possible to cut a propane tank. MikeD74t

Yeah, I read that thread when it was posted. As is usually the case, I chose
not to comment at the time. There are a lot of ways to do things safely, if
one takes the time to figure out what causes Bad Things to Happen. Since
you mention it, MIKE, you can remove the combustibles from the tank, but
the added safety stench remains!

Good Evening Dfkrug,
This thread was a great read !!! Very informative and a beautifully executed build on that fuel tank ! Really enjoyed it and you obviously know which end of the torch to hold ! ;)

Very nicely done, thanks ! :)

We need more threads like yours ! :)

BTW a few years ago I believe I dispelled the notion that you will blow yourself up doing something similar ! On a concurrent thread.

Thx, Scotty. Despite the "experimenting" I did when I was much younger,
I still have all my fingers. I guess some would call that "screwing around"....

How did I miss this thread?

Nice, nice, nice! Much safer than a 5gal gas can, in many ways. I bet more people have been injured by climing up in an awkward position to pour fuel than by designing and fabricating their own fueler. :D

I need to get rid of my 55gal air fueler. Can't afford to fill it up any more. I may start using one of those "super soakers" to squirt a gallon of diesel at a time.

very nice! I have been looking at building something like this.

Me, I just use a 5 gallon container with a long enough hose. Put the container in the FEL and raise it up. Hose to the fuel tank and gravity does the rest. Oh yes, I do have one of those pump nozzles to get things started.

Dfkrug; Excellent reporting, nice job. Debating to get a plasma cutter and it looks like I need one. Great usage of an old propane cylinder. My neighbor made a sandblaster out of one.
Be sure and post more projects. Your at the head of the class !!!!

Thx, Joe

Funny you should mention the sandblaster conversion. Harbor Freight
makes a nice sandblaster tank with all the air connections that I
considered converting into a Diesel fueling station. Very little
modification necessary, from what I can see. If anyone copies and/or
improves on what I made, I hope they post it here.

Awww... man! NOW I find a great use for those 100lb propane tanks that came with the building my old boss bought 5 years ago. :D
