Am I the only one that about gags when you get to enjoy diesel fumes in your face for a few hours. I didn't mind so much at first but I must be getting more sensitive to it. Maybe I need a tall stack. That will look a little silly on a BX.

is it possible to reroute the tail pipe to the rear instead of up in your face? I seem to recall pics on here of some one doing that to a kabota but dont know which model. My Ford has the pipe exiting under the rear axle so the only time I get a face full is when attaching implements with tractor running. YES I know you should shut off tractor and the fumes make me do it more often then not.

I think it pretty much depends on how much diesel your getting in your face !!! I dont mind it myself, the startup is probablly the worst, but after that its tolerable. Like you mentioned, an extension may solve some of your problems.

You might check my bio out if your lookin for a laugh :)

The exhaust on my L4400 is down low on the left front. I rarely smell diesel at all. Sometimes when I accelerate on the road I get a little puff of black smoke but other than that I don't notice anything.

Years ago I was working for my B-I-L and drove one of his old tractors with a rusty broken off exhaust on the top and it spewed smoke in my face all day, and it was summer too. Didn't like that at all.

I inhale Jp 8, and diesel. I am like Robert Duvall in the movie "Apocalypse Now" when he stood on the beach and said he "loves the smell of Napalm in the morning". Me, I love the smell of "diesel in the morning"!!!!!!!!!!!

I probably wouldn't like a lot of diesel fumes in the face, but there is nothing on earth like the smell of diesel and freshly plowed dirt. Takes me WAY back.

As mentioned you can try Biodiesel, but come cold weather time you will need to go back to petroleum diesel otherwise the biodiesel will gel up and your tractor won't start.

I don't mind the smell of burned diesel as much as I hate the smell of the stuff right out of the storage tank.

Years ago when I was in the HVAC business I used to pass the service for fuel oil on the the other technicians and I would gladly take the natural gas customers in trade. Now there's a smell that brings a smile to my face.
