I just noticed this new product from Power Service Products. Since the additive package in oils has been debated till it was beaten to a pulp, I figure this is another good way to put that additive package back into your oil. Anyone care to comment, positive, negative, neutral, or just condemn or praise it????

Diesel engines require engine oil to remove more combustion by-products than gasoline engines. The oil contains an additive package to accomplish this job, however over time, these additives become depleted and ineffective. Diesel Lube® Oil Extender replaces the additives in diesel engine oil to provide the extra protection required between engine oil changes. )</font>

Don't know much about the product, but I do know that most of the Wal*Marts in this area have the 96 ounce bottle on clearance for $6.00. Guess it did not sell well.

I would never use oil or fuel additives. They are not needed if you use good fuel and/or oil.

Forget using any oil, just purchase the concentrated additive package while it is on sale and use it exclusively.

Who needs oil???? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I must add that since doing extended drains my add levels are always very high. Again, looks like marketing hype.

I will file this tidbit of advise along with that of your diesel fuel vs. home heating oil post........ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It would seem most people agree that this is an unnecessary product, at best.

I'm surprised that Power Service would venture into this minefield and therefore risk their credibility with their fuel additives. The lube additive market is replete with examples of companies that have been forced to retract claims and make refunds for worthless products, so much so that the general public seems to have been educated to the fact that today's oils simply don't need any supplemental help.

Someday the same thing will happen with fuel additives.

I tried a quart in my tractor and now it starts faster and runs longer, smoother, and quieter. I used to fill up the tank every 8 hours and it would take 4 gallons. Now I can go to 12 hour running time and only takes 3 gallons. It is a miracle in a can.......ok.. plastic bottle... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
