Diesel Questions

I'd go ahead and fill it up. I've stopped trying to time markets, that'll just drive you crazy. I'd have a 55 gal drum ready and get him to put in 50 gals for a start to check for leaks before filling it all the way up.

I've been using a diesel fuel stabilizer by Golden Eagle that I got at TSC years ago. One bottle treats 1000 gallons but they don't seem to carry it anymore so I'll be looking for an alternative as I'm getting low. I've got the stuff they carry now but it doesn't contain an algaecide. I use Sta-Bil for the gas at twice the recommnded rate and it seems to work quite well.

Our dealer has a 300 gallon minimum for a scheduled delivery but will drop off less if he's in the area but you could wait a couple of weeks if he's real busy. Usually it's a few days but that's why I use 55 gal drums at the house. If I get desperate I can always go to the farm and liberate some out of their 300 gallon tank.

We never use stabilizer in the farm tank (don't ask why?) but it never seems to be a problem, even after a couple of years.

**************
1*I'm tempted.
2*I have one ready .
3*It's 150 gallon here.
4*Same here with my dealer.
5*That's why I call him up while I still have 15 to 25 gallon of fuel left.
This should cover me for a few weeks in case it takes him a while to get here .
6* & 7*I can always take a 30 or 55 gallon drum and go pick up a few gallon if I have to.
8*I use a quart with each 55 gallon refill.
That's almost a double dose.
9*I'm not trying to time the market.
I was just concerned about getting summer blend now and trying to use and or store it over the winter.
