difference between 2010 BX25 and 2009

I've just purchased a new 2010 BX25 and I love it. I am concerned however with some faded paint and I was wondering now I can tell that it is truly a 2010 and not a 2009 model. Is their a difference between the two years. How can I tell it is a 2010.:confused2:

I dont believe there is a difference. If I had to guess your tractor was probably sitting outside for awhile causing the paint to fade. I didnt notice any fading on mine but my unit was also outside prior to purchase also. Good Luck with it. They are great little tractors.

I also have a 2010 bx25 and I do believe that they are the same. the faded paint was probably because it sat outside in the sun for awhile like most do before they are bought.

Don't know if this logic applies to all Kubotas or just my M8540, but my WSM (Work Shop Manual -- an item every owner should have) decodes the engine serial this way:

First digit = year: 1=2001, 2=2002, 3=2003... A=2010, B=2011... Z=2027

Second digit = month: A and B=January, C and D=February, E and F=March... Y and Z = December

The remaining digits are engine numbers 0000 thru 9999 in that year/month

I would use rjkobberman's info to try and figure it out. Keep in mind that these tractors most likely do not contain a "clearcoat" finish on the paint to help protect it from UV rays and fading. Its most likely a single stage paint.

Thank you. I can not find that information in my Owners Manual or Assembly Instructions Manual (only manuals I was given by my dealer). I did however locate my Engine Serial Number and found it to be ACxxxx. If I understand you correctly "A" would be 2010 "C" would be February. I hope all Kubota models use the table you have provided.
