Difference between the TN and TC series?

Larry on the Hilltop, the TC will depreciate less then the TN,TT or TDD as the compacts are holding their value very well. As for the TN and TT they will depreciate equally. The TN cost more upfront and after 5 years will fetch more money then the TT but the TT cost a lot less to begin with also so it is a wash. If given the option of getting a cab tractor for the same cost as an open station tractor (or maybe a little less) and equal hp I would go with the TDD over the TN in a heartbeat. Now, if you needed the tractor for a specific task then you buy the tractor that works for that task but for an all around utility tractor the TT and TDD can not be beat. MF sold a lot of 231 and 231s tractors that were basically just the old MF35. They sold a lot of these tractors to people who wanted a simple tractor that was affordable and reliable. Those tractors held their value quite well and still do so I do not see the TT or TDD line dropping very fast unless they have a serious problem as the hours pile up on them.

I was told the TC55DA was 2.9% financing right now for 8 years and if thats the case you will save thousands in interest and may be a better deal then the TT60A so consider that if your finacing through CNH.

I would like to know abou this 60HP tractor will it be a new motor? Any other changes? I am looking into getting a TC55DA while financing is low. I may wait if something really better comes out. Does anyone know for sure about this 2.9 for 8 years deal?

Larry NFES or anyone else: The TT-A series brochure info is sparse on the dimensions. I e-mailed New Holland and they provided a lame response about looking at their web site, which of course does not have the dimensions:mad:. If you have one on your lot, can you tell me (us) what the overall length, width, wheelbase, height to top of ROP is? Also, is the TT60A turning radius much different as compared to the TC55DA? Thanks!

Steve, I can't tell you the specs but the TT appears to be identical in size to the TN but with a different tranny. The specs should be very similar between the TT and TN. The TT should not be confused as a compact similar to the TC55. It is a straight utility tractor like the TN but minus the bells and whistles.

Mike,
Yes, the TC55DA is at an amazing 2.9% for 96 months right now! Typically that means that NH has a glut of them and wants to move them and will subsidize the financing heavily to attract the dealer to order more than usual.

We just sold our last TC55 and I dont cuurently have any on order because I ordered 2 TT series tractors instead. The dollar per horsepower for the TT vs the TC55 just makes more sense right now and I feel it will be harder to sell the TC55 if they are all on the lot at the same time. The TC55's are readily available , sitting in Georgia, so I can get one within 3 to 4 days if I have a retail for one.

I have been given limited information about the new 60hp unit other than the fact that it will 60hp, same frame size as the TC55, and the model designation will be T2460 or something like that. I'm sorry I dont have more info right now but I will let you know the moment I do. What that DOES tell me is that if you are in need of a tractor right now, and the TC55 will do the job, I would jump on the 96 month financing from the standpoint of monthly investment. It wont get any better than that. However, if you still have shopping time left, you may want to wait. I know, its hard to wait, but based on what NH has been bringing to the market over the last year, I see even better things coming.

There are actually 3 new models in the CUT line coming out this year but at the moment all I have are proposed model numbers, all start with "T". I guess its the same naming convention as the new T6000 and T8000 series. My guess is that all models will be "T" something by next year. Time for all new literature again!

Hope this helps some,
Larry

Steve Mc,
Here is some info that should help..
The TT60 is 56 Gross HP and 47 PTO HP
179 cu in naturally aspirated 3 cyl diesel (same engine as the TN series)
16.4 gal fuel tank (under hood)
8x2 constant mesh trans - synchronized shifts from 3 to 4th gear and 7 to 8th gear for on the go shifting
wet disc brakes (oil cooled)
Ind 540 PTO engages seperately from traction clutch (feather on and off)
4WD dimensions: TT60A with 16.9x28 tires (standard)
Wheelbase = 80.1" (center front to center rear)
Overall Length = 136.5"
Overall Height = 93" (top of ROPS)
Track Setting Rear (width) = 56.3" to 76.5"
Drawbar Clearance = 15"
Turning Radius without brakes = 201" (52 degree turn angle)
Turning Radius with brakes = 166"
3PH Lift at ball ends = 2,930 lbs

Basically, its very simaler to the TN series in size and power, even sharing the same engine. It has the older style non-"A" series hood and lights and a simpler transmission and controls layout. Step through deck, grab handles, and it shares the deluxe seat from the Boomer series.

NH just combined a lot of the proven features from several different tractor lines into a Lean & Mean Value Priced tractor. Sort of back to basics if you will. I dont have any on the lot yet but I cant wait for them to arrive! :)

I have other specs as well if needed, just let me know and I will help where I can.

Thanks,
Larry

Larry NFES: Thanks for the info. You are the first to actually have it. I have been reading all the threads and find everyone's opinion (Pros and Cons) to be very helpful. I can see that those that are doing their homeowrk are having as much fun as those that have already made their purchase and enjoying their tractors. I also noticed that the new TT's have a folding ROP which really makes it a great tractor for the $$$.:)

Why is CNH the last to get cabs on their cuts? No class ii cab models; why? I want a class ii cab model; I have to go orange or green to get it.
Also I looked at specs of tc 31 and 34 and hydraulics are lower than tc 29 and 33? (On CNH site)

That's a question that I hear alot and one that I ask of NH often. The majority of their R&D time over the past two years has been in getting ALL the engines to Tier3 compliance for emissions. They must all be compliant by 2008 I believe.

They certainly spent alot of time in re-engineering the 50 to 95 HP tractors and also introduced several new complete tractor lines over the last year and a half. They base thier engineering efforts on worldwide market demand and respond accordingly. Having a cab for the class 2 tractors is certainly on the list, but not far enough up the list at the moment. I would guess that we will see class 2 cabs by the fourth quarter this year or first quarter of 2008.

As a dealer, I get discouraged that things dont happen quicker even when I say "hey, if we had one, we could sell it!..". We are at the mercy of the manufacturer and they dont make changes or produce new products in a hurried manner. Often times, customer focus groups and dealer meetings are held to determine what is needed and when. I'd like to say that good things come to those that wait, but I dont think buyers are waiting when they have an immediate need. There is simply not much I can do about that because like you, I have to wait too.

Thanks,
Larry

Was reading my ACRES magazine I receive from New Holland this weekend. They had a nice advertisement about the TT series. Looked like a nice machine, with the only difference I could see from the print of having a non fully syncro mainshaft in the trans. Stated that only 3rd and 4th, 7th and 8th gear would allow shifting while in motion. It was also stating an 8fwd/2rev speed gearbox. Thought I read some where else, maybe on the NH offical site that the TDD was available with an optional 20fwd/12rev trans.
