Have seen both model 70 and model 70A loaders on JD CUT's and was wondering if anyone here might know the differences between them?? They look the same, so I'm guessing it might be in the weight lifting capacity?? Thanks....

I think they have different mounts on the towers for different tractors. I have a 70 on my 790.

Is a model 70 and model 70A loader interchangeable?? Or do they mount differently. Just curious is the reason I ask.....

From the 60, 70 and 70A Loaders Parts Catalog:

The 60 loader is for 650/655/670 tractors

The 70 is for750/755/770/790/855

The 70A is for 855/955.

It's hard to figure what the differences are, they only list part numbers against serial numbers. There are six different boom assemblies and 12 different masts (probably LH/RH). I would doubt that the 70 and 70A are interchageable, though they likely share many common parts.

A quick Google didn't turn up much. What are you looking for? I've got the operators manual, the parts manual and the hydraulics manual. If it's in one of those, I'd be happy to provide.

Mostly just the lifting capacity, breakout force, lift height, the usual sort of stuff you pay attention to in a loader. If you have it, that would be nice if you could post, if not I'm sure I will run across that info somewhere eventually. Thanks.

I'm new to this forum, however, I need some help with a friend's John Deere 755 & 855. Everything says the FEL (Model 70) is interchangeable, so he upgraded from the 755 to the 855, but when we tried to put the 70 FEL on the 855, it doesn't fit. Tried finding the specs to see what the differences might be between the 70 & the 70A FEL's, but have had no luck. Can anyone help me with this?

:welcome: to TBN

Go to the JD parts site, and put in the model 70, scroll down to the loader and view the different bracket parts to match up what you have and what you may need different.

Quite a bit of information there.

Sample of what you should see when in jdparts and have put in the model 70 FEL and looking at mounting brackets.
