The Kodo Drummers came into town a few years ago and I
managed to see them. It was the most awesome performance
I have ever seen. The physicallity they put into the music
has to be seen, heard and felt to be believed. There was not
an ounce of fat on these people what so ever and after
watching them work out, errr, perform, I can understand why.
They made it look very easy but hitting a drum with what
looks to be a sawn off dowl rod at a mind bending frequency
for long periods of time is not only awesome but humbling.
When these guys would finish a set they where covered in
sweat and out of breath.
And the music is out of this world! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
If you see the drummers coming to town make an effort to
see them. I keep hoping they will come back soon... I
waited 10 years to see them from the time I first read about
them, got a CD of their music and finally got to see them live.
Well worth the wait...
