Would you just look at Bird's signature!!! Man that is a beauty!

Harv, I think that Bird has upped the bar and it is not like you to leave this sort of thing alone. (just trying to get a little game of "Who's got the best sig" going)

/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif I don't even have a sig!/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Funny thing, the whole reason I got into this RC hobby was to fly biplanes. Been into planes since 1986 and have yet to get one. I think all the moving around gets in the way. Well now thanks to ARF's and since I seem to have little time to build I'm gonna get a Kyosho Super Stearman and throw an OS .52 four stroke in it. Ought to be fun!! That plane there looks like it would be a little hottie to fly. Staggerwings sure are unique. I actually still have a Pitts in a box that I bought in 1986 and maybe after the Stearman and my youngest gets into school I'll give it a shot. I hear the Pitts can be a real hand full. Now as far as flying the real thing, I don't think so!!!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Well Kubotadriver, your ahead of me, I've never even used the yellow dot faces that you have displayed. I havent figured out how to make a signature, heck, all I have ever done is post some pictures, Rat...

The yellow dot faces are super easy, Rat. When you get to a spot that you want one then go up to the top right of the "Reply To" page (this is the page that you type on) and open up the FAQ page in a new window and you will see all the smiley faces you can use at about the 1/3 page mark. Just cut and paste the letters and brackets next to the one you want and bingo/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif there you are.

Man, I never thought of cut and paste...I always just looked and typed. You learn something new everyday!

Bird,

This will sound like a newbie question, but why should 4X4 not be used on a hard surface? (Not that I'm planning on it, I just want to know why).

Thanks,

Chris

Climber,

Just like a truck in 4wd. Hard surfaces are hard on the tires and differential. With my Ram pickup, I've felt the front end lock up slightly and the front tires are pushed on dry pavment. Feels very wierd. So, I've learned to be carefull on dry pavement with my truck.

With a tractor, I believe it's even tougher. You can feel the tractor lug somewhat when making a sharp turn on hard pavement. I usually notice this after my wife or daughter drives the JD. The 4wd lock is located on the left footboard just at the bottom of the fender. They must just lift their heels up, pull their foot back, and stomp on the lock petal. They don't even know that they do it. I just mumble to myself and unlock the silly thing. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif Women!! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
