Differential lock pedal stuck

I am unable to engage the differential lock on my YM 1300D. Even standing on the pedal while moving it will not engage. Any suggestions on what may be causing this/ and how to fix?

Also, is it possible to mount a 3 pt logsplitter using this tractors hydraulics, or am better off with a PTO pump?

I wouldn't stand on your pedal or try and force it you may break somjething. To engage my diff lock it has to be in situation where one or both of my wheels are slipping on my 2wd tractor and when I do engage diff lock it doesn't take much pressure. I assume it works the same with 4wd. I did have a problem when I didn't remove some ice buildup under the pedal though. You may have to disassemble it to find out what is wrong if everything appears ok externally.

Have you checked the obvious, is the lever frozen from rust where it enters the differential housing, (PB Blaster)?

I agree with both of the above posts. We find them stuck sometimes. PB Blaster and some patience normally works.

The hydraulic pump is too low of GPM to operate the splitter at an acceptible speed. Splitters normally use a large ram, that equates to volume of fluid. You would have to have more patience than I do to be happy using the tractor pump.

Where the rod goes into the housing for the diff lock is corroded. I can see ther was a rubber boot that is dry rotted. I sprayed WD40 on it. I will try some other type of penetrating spray. If I take off the three bolts where the diff lock rod enters the case, what should I expect? Will I get in over my head?

I guess I will look for a PTO pump type logsplitter.
