I have a dig it 198t backhoe and need to change hydrostatic drive system filter and oil, not sure type of oil and how much. Is there a service manual that I can
purchase? I have a parts manual

Can't help you on specifics of that model. My DigIt 258 backhoe uses 30W oil for the hydraulics ( first machine I've owned that used something other than hydraulic fluid) Have you tried Heartland Construction Equipment Dig It Parts - HEARTLAND CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT for a manual?

I have a 198T and it calls for only 10W-40 SG-CC rated motor oil or better in hydraulic system.
There is a decal on side of tractor stating this.

i have a 198t dig it is there another alternative engine to run instead of kohler ch20s-64654?? maybe small diesel???
