Digging Ditches?

Wouldn't a rear blade that tilts (and preferably be offset) work for this? Dig the square trench then run down each side with the RB? Obviously the length of the blade would have to match the depth of the trench so you don't roll the tractor into the ditch - so wouldn't work in all situations.

What keeps the horses from breaking their legs in this or is on the outside of the fence?
