I've planned for that already. I put in a trench to divert most of the water around the pond. I also put in an overflow pipe so if water still comes in from the tile after the pond is full, it will gracefully flow out the other side. I will have to wait and see just how much water moves through the pond before I can decide whether to put fish in it (or whether they would be washed away).

On my place, you can dig six inches and hit water. And, lack of rain hasn't been a problem for years. Count your blessings.
On the other hand, our dirt doesn't grow rocks! We have to import them from Ohio. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
