You might want to give this software a try IrfanView I found out about this software form this forum and use it all the time. Its pretty simple to use. I really like slide show feature. Give it a try. I got a Nikon Coolpix 950 a year ago. The attached picture was almost 400KB. With just a few click I got it to 640x480 for size and saved it at "94" compression. Another thing about IrfanView is it is easy to control the compression of a jpeg file. Also you can save in many different formats. It may sound like I know what I'm talking about but learned most my digital photo stuff from this forum. I'm sure there are others out there in the forum group but Harv knows his stuff. He helped me a lot when he first registered. Best of luck with you new camera. It's great when we go to my parent's house with Nik and take pictures (lots, usually 50 to 75 per afternoon). At the end we download the pictures, keep the best ones, and e-mail a few over to Germany to Nik's Great Grandmother and other family members.

OK, downloaded the Irfanview software and the xat. Here is a test photo that I resized with Irfanview.

These two have now teamed up and are working against me/w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

OK, pictures are posted in the customization forum under "Added ToolBox". I Messed-up and had the camera in close-up mode /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif So, the pictures did'nt come out quite right. Now that I have downloaded the manual I will know what I'm doing next time. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I think you got a great deal. Kodak makes a good camera and I think you will be very satisfied with the quality of pictures you can get from a 2.2 megapixel camera.

I have also wanted to buy a digital camera. Looked at them at Best Buy several times and then became overwhelmed while standing there looking at all the different models. I was looking at the Sony Cybershot 4meg in the paper yesterday morning.. It is priced at 599.99 and the 2 meg is priced at 279.99. Gotta love the .99 they always tack on.

Right now we use the Sony Dig Movie Camera and then I play this through the computer and use a program I have called dazzle. You can then use the mouse and take snapshots of the streaming video and change the format to Jpegs.

However, The video camera is too bukly to carry around and definately won't fit in the shirt pocket.

I just bought a digital from Costco. It's a Toshiba 2.2MP, and 3x optical, with 1/1000 th shutter speed for $200.00 dollars. Sounds like a bargin, I guess you have to know a little about what your doing. Used two sets of batteries reading the manual and trying to learn how to set things on the camera. Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm not making out so great. Can't shut the LCD off, I think that would save a bit on the batteries.

can ya get that dazzle with a usb connection or only firewire?? I had one of my users buy it for a PC that doesn't have a firewire connection - so it's either return it for a usb model or put a firewire card in the PC.
