I have some of those little TV's that we bring with us on camping trips and I would say they will work with the converter box if you have an external ant connection. I think I added a round ant connection to one of my little TV's, I got the connector at RS and drilled a small hole and soldered two wires and it works now. Or they can be used as a backup TV with the connector mod.

Yeah.. I guess I can always solder up a 300ohm matching transformer.. one side to ground, and the other side to the ? 75 ohm antenna input.. and 'make er' work with a converter box. Guess i gotta go order one of those coupons now!

My Dad bought a converter box so I gave it a try on my TV's. I went from 7 or 8 channels to 1 channel! I e-mailed the FCC a few months ago and got no response. I have also e-mail the local TV stations and haven't really got a response either.

In July I will be mailing PA's Senators (Spector & Casey). I will also send a letter to the House Rep as well (Murtha) asking for an extension or some other options for the rural people. I highly doubt I will get a response. Especially since this bandwidth has already been sold off and will be used for other communications.

I ordered my coupons (which expire in June) and have been unable to purchase a box simply because no local stores carry them! They are always out of stock. I refuse to purchase them online and pay an extra $10 for shipping.

Go to Radio Shack, if they are out of stock in the store they will order you one from the DC through their "Direct To You" program. You pay for it in the store and they ship it to your door at the same price, no shipping charges.

Don't let the coupon expire, the FCC will not issue you more.

I saw a newspaper article about those expiring coupons... they are becoming a big monster in the closet.. and the FCC is going to have to do something about it pretty soon.

Of the ones out there, the Zenith (Circuit City) seems to be one of the better ones. Remote can control TV power, good on-screen menus and only a single AAA battery in the remote.

I have bought 3 types and like the Zenith the best.

No volume for the tv though, thats why I rate it #2 behind the Digital Stream, (R.S.)

The Zenith does control volume, not the TV volume, but the volume of the signal from the converter box. Net effect is basically the same.

You won't need one.
The cable company is still brooadcasting in analog to your set and will continue.

You only need one for off the air broadcasts via antenna from local stations.

We have Dish Network. What I am wondering is if companies like Dish and DirectTV will charge more for HD packages as they do now. When all channels are converted to HD, won't they have to upgrade our recievers? How can they charge extra for HD channel packages if it is the standard?
