:laughing::laughing: I have been seeing this thread for a few days now and have been wondering how there can be so much talk over a broken oil dip stick! Now I know, wrong "Dip Stick" for sure!

I picked up the Dipper Stick this morning and it took about 3 hours to get it all back together again. It felt quite a bit longer, but it really was fairly simple.

The welds look amazing. They said getting it straight again was the hardest part, then it welded up pretty easily. There are plates on all four sides, and they welded up a crack at the end where the bucket attaches.

I will prime and paint it in a little bit. I have primer, but I don't have any yellow paint.

I'm very pleased and impressed with the repair. I don't know if I could have gotten that done by a mobile welder. Maybe. I guess it depends if they have the metal or will get the metal. And who I called, and what their level of experience and pride in what they do was.

At $600, I think it's a bargain!!!!

Those are beauiful welds with properly thought out plates and the price was good. Probably the best welds on the machine.
