Directional chimney cap squeak is making me nutz!

I would drill out that bracket and put an oil saturated bushing between the stainless rod and the bracket.

That was my thought at first. I'd have to fab a new bracket to be large enough to accept a bushing. But when it was off I thought, hmmm- the bracket is made of bushing material. I guess that I should have done it.

Engine manifold gasket material or similar. There are a variety of ceramic bushings also.
