Plenty of talk about a dirt scoop but not to many pictures. So here are some of mine. Only thing I noticed on my little L my lift arms won't quite lift it up far enough to full swimg down. Maybe only a 1/2" or so. This is the 30" model. But I can drive the tractor forward and still get it dumped. You can also use it to sort of spread it out a bit. Not as good as a box blade.

After this play we actually did move some topsoil around the yard.

Enjoy,
Rob

Put your side links in the upper hole and you may get the extra lift you need to dump fullly. i see from the pics that you have 2 holes and you are using the lower.

Good Call.

I remember glancing at that but was having fun with the operation. Then the scoop came off and it was on to the next task!

Thanks,
Rob

What brand is that? I could see that being really nice for digging trenches. It would be great with a hydraulic toplink. I wonder if the dump function could be hooked up to a hydraulic cylinder through a rear remote?

It's a local COOP model...looks just like the yellow ones TWC sells. Maybe a KingKutter?? Dang price of Steel I paid $315 out the door. I've seen them real cheap a few years ago.

To dump you just pull the rope. It relocks itself. That works nice. Just a slight pull and it'll dump. Lower back to the ground and it'll relock.

King Kutter uses angle for the top pieces on their scoop. That looks exactly like the Howse, except the color, the Howse is dark red. I made one that looks alot like the KK, but studied the parts manuals and pictures of both very carefully. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...rt-scoop-3-pt-first.html?highlight=dirt+scoop

My impression when I saw it was that it looked like the Howse only yellow. With the scoop you really do not need hyd on the dump. It fairly easily dumps itself and balances such that it returns and relocks itself when empty.

I used mine this past week to fill in some low spots in my drive that were holding water (no suprise after all the rain and storms we've had this month). I forget the brand, I'll try to get some pics this evening.

I bought an old Ford dirt scoop and use it on my B2910. It's a very handy attachment. You can move a considerable amount of dirt in a short time. You may not use it often, but when needed there's nothing like it. I don't have an FEL so I use mine quite a bit.

Definitely move your lower link pins to the bottom hole on the scoop and you will gain some lift ability.
