Re: Dirt Scoop Users - Don?t Do What I Did!

Thanks for the advice. I have never tried reversing the scoop as I have my Freedom Hitch attachment connected to the opposite end. I have had the same problems with dumping mechanism but will try the suggestion of lowering scoop before trying to release the latch. There must be some sort of latch mechanism that would work better than the current system. Maybe someone has already discussed the "fix" in an earlier discussion.

I bolted about 18 inches of an old stabilizer arm (1/4" x maybe 2-1/2" steel) to the trip lever of my scoop. I can reach the handle from the seat when the scoop is mounted to the rear, or put a rope on and get lots of leverage the other way. Still not perfect dumping, but lots better.

Jerry

A good lesson in your post for all of us. Loose and excessive rope can be a real "pain" at times.

Thanks for sharing and hope your hand is OK now??

Cheers
