I just paid $ 10.00/yard and loaded 2 yards into the bed of my F350. It loaded the bed down against the bump stops so I assume it was somewhere around 4,000 lbs.

I've been paying $8 to $10 a yard for topsoil. They don't charge extra for the weed seeds included /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

In my little area of SW NH, loam is going from 13.50 to 17.50 a yard, delivered. The price seems to correlate well with the quality. The price may also correlate somewhat with the size of the truck they use. Sometimes it is handy if they can bring the smaller (9 yard) dump and get closer to where I need it. Of course, you may not care if you want more seat time. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Thanks for the link. I think I'm a little out of thier range here in PA. I like the calculator they have online though. I'm trying to find someone close, so I don't have far to haul it. The local greenhouse charges $30 a yard. There is a place by my inlaws that charges $17.50, but thats 40 miles away.

Just got 16 yds nice screened material delivered for $250. a little less than $16. Good loam, not a lot of sand that you might find here in SE NH.
Others I talked to will sell it for $12 per 16 yds plus $50 for dely, so about the same. Put it down last Wed night sowed and seeded it - have 3/4" grass now.
Also I buy unscreened compost material for $100 for 10 yds from a local guy that does yard cleanup, then mix some topsoil as well my aged compost materials - makes better mulch than what you buy and a lot cheaper. no major weed probelm to date - 12 months so far..
