could on the main index information such as the last poster and first post date be added along with the current information?
this has been mentioned before in this thread i think and i agree with the idea, i believe it would make navigating around old topics easier
just a thought

after reading thru all these posts i still dont understand whats so bad about bringing back old posts, even if there is no new value added, which is purely opinion anyhow. i know i have seen a few threads brought back from long ago on this board as well as others that started a neat conversation. i dont see whats bad about posts being brought back, if ya dont wanna read it dont read it.

Nice post;
It's good to see someone who can think outside the box for a change and realizes there is more than one angle on something.

Some folks hain't happy without something to nit pick about.

but thinking about it couldnt you, if it was that important, make a new post and make a link back to the older thread
i guess the main problem is the sheer number of active threads at one time - think of the poor server /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
but this thread is kinda turning into a Brown Bashing session

A post of mine was deleted for allegedly putting down others.
Seems the degree of bashing permitted depends on who you're bashing and who's doing the bashing .LOL

This thread has not NAMED one person -- It's just a conversation about old threads.

Hey LB - this thread is just another fine example of elder TBN member trying to let folks now how to properly behave. PBS could do a special on the social habits of TBN members. When a new guy posts and makes the general faux paus, the more experienced members take it upon themselves to line the new guy out. If the new guy tries to defend himself, he becomes a troll or troublemaker and gets his posts moderated (or deleted)...and then, somebody will start another thread just to cut on the new guy again if they don't feel that they have exacted their pound of flesh.

I honestly cannot imagine that all the super members of TBN have posted something useful in every single post, or probably even a third of them. I've seen several posts by many of our more prolific members that are nothing more than piling on (both good and bad). However, until you've been at it for many months and have a thousand posts or so, you're a newbie and will be taught the proper manner in which you are expected to post.

Of course, some guys are trolls, some get stoned off the board, some get ignored and leave, some have multiple identities and argue with themselves, so you never really know what you're gonna get (right, Forrest?).

It's like I've commented before...everyone on TBN is encouraged to express their individuality - just make sure you do it like everybody else does!

I'm not certain that's entirely fair -- I think there's lots of individuality and personality among the various members. At the same time, there is a common trait, which is politeness and consideration. When a number of people believe that a certain trait is annoying, and gently let the offender know that it's annoying, it's only polite and considerate to make an effort to avoid that trait.

Having said all that in generalities, I will make the only specifc reference to the 59th Mr. Brown that I intend to make. At least once, he dragged up an old thread and posted -- Nothing! It was a new post on an old thread, and it was blank. After bragging about over 17,000 posts on forums, one would expect him to know that he posted a blank message. I can only come to the conclusion that it was deliberate, intended to get a rise. I notified the moderators and they deleted it.
