Disabling tractor

Is there a way to disable my B7800 so it can not be started. If I remove the battery, another can be installed, if I put a kill swith, it can be circumvented by rerouting around it. I guess what I am looking for is some kind of fool proof way to keep thieves from steeling it, if there is one. I Put the outriggers on the bh down and extend the boom so there is not a way to move it with out starting it. It is parked where they cannot pull up to it and drag it out, but if they get it started, then they have it. I keep it insured, but lost one and don't want to go through that again. I though about running a chain from the back axle, turn the front wheels pad lock it, but it is easy to cut the chain.

if somebody wants something bad enough - they will take it. the best you can do is make it "not easy" for them to do so. a pro can get anything. think about it - how many of us have garages or shed with big locks - well those nice battery powered saws make it easy to create your own opening - and how many of our neighbors will investigate yet another saw running in the neighborhood. i do like the idea of the kill switch on the battery - will keep the opportunist from driving off - but will not stop the pro as he will come with a flatbed and winch.

As TNMX has stated , If they are really intent on stealing it it's GONE . You might be able to frustrate ,or delay them . But if they are Pro's they'll get it anyway . If they are amateurs , they'll likely tear up the machine out of frustration . Probably the best thing to do is keep Your machine Out of sight .,and have decent insurance

Try a 1/2 ounce of lead in their left ear if you catch them ! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif It pretty much gets around that you are serious about your property . It also stops the cost to the court system for convicting them . /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just LoJack it if your really concerned. Rather pricey though. A friend of mine has everything LoJacked. cars, truck, trailers, equipment. Figures though, he's never needed it. 90% recovery rate they claim. Soon as it moves the alert goes out to you on the newer systems. You call the police. They activate your unit and the location is rendered via satllite. All this can happen within a few minutes. Not sure how far it has to move but I bet it isn't far. A truck driver unfortunately took an 18 wheel excursion on a run-away truck road out west. He called dispatch and before he could say anything they said they knew what had happened. Said he was maybe 100' laterally off the main road. So the satellite tracking is pretty good. They'd almost certainly be caught moving a tractor. They may be equipped but it's not like that is a super fast process.

I just insure mine. If they need it that bad they can have it, long as I'm not around of course. I'd just have to get a bigger one. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I thought there was some pull type fuse link thingy on the lower right side of the engine comparment you could pull.
Right side being as you sit on it. I'll check it out when I get home tonight, if I can see in the dark.

My dealer showed it to me, in case I needed to leave it somewhere.

Little did he know, I am **** about keeping it close to the house.

I still remember during my short military time back in the 50's a Major told us,' a mine field ain't worth a tinkers dam, unless you have a machine gun covering it, 24-7'. What he was trying to impress on us is that a mine field can be crossed given enough time.
That is just another way of agreeing with several who have already posted.
