That loader is a Yanmar loader that came from Japan with the tractor. If you call enough importers you might find one that a dealer is willing to sell you.

Re: disappointed new member loader

I'd recommend a Kelley loader. I have my doubts that anyone manufactures brackets for the YM2700. I think the Kelley would be the easiest to adapt. Email or call me if interested.

Marc, I believe everyone is tippy-toeing around the real issue here. If your first post had stated that you were thinking of purchasing a YM2700 with the intent of purchasing and installing a FEL on it, you would have had 25 posts saying "DON"T DO IT". If you can find a loader that will fit or adapt to it, the price will be prohibitive or at least negate any deal you might have gotten on the tractor, and you will still have a 2wd tractor with a loader, which is not a good thing.
IF it were mine I would sell the 2700 and purchase a 4wd with a loader.

THANKS GUYS!
All of your responses have been very helpful and I have learned something from each. I contacted Len and now have manuals on the way to me. I found someone local with a 20hp deere with a 5 foot box blade that wants to trade me even for the 4 foot that I bought. After talking to Len on the phone I cranked it up for the first time and got it off the trailer. Today my project is to assemble tha Howse 5 foot finish mower and get it attached to the tractor. As soon as the manuals arrive and I go through all the maintenance checks recomended I hope to cut some grass this weekend. I think i"ll wait a while to buy a FEL and do a bit more research. Thanks again for all the advice, anything else anyone thinks I need to know pass it on. Remember I'm so new to this I don't know what I don't know.
Marc.

Great news on the box blade xfer. As for the loader. Mostly you see 4wd' with a loader.. Remember though in the past, all there was were 2wd machines. I'm not certain how big a 2700 is.. but think about an 8n with a loader.. they do exist. And there are enough ford 3000's in my area with loaders that I can't count em without taking the shoes off.
There are just many limitations with 2wd and a loader.. especially the smaller machines. Power steering halps some of those problems.

Are you still disappointed?

Very well said. Much easier to help someone stay out of "trouble" than to wallow around in the mud with them. We'd rather be helpful in the first place.

But it sounds like the cookieman is happy with his "new toy" and will enjoy the future days of finding out much of what he will need to make those better decisions down the road. We all had to get there one way or another. I had a very helpful uncle when I was growing up, anxious to tell me everything he knew and then some. My dad couldn't stand him, as he talked all the time. I found his information and explanations to be very helpful and most have followed me all my life. Now I do not hesitate to pass information along to others. They can take it or leave it, but at least I haven't kept it cooped up inside to take it with me.

For example, just the other day I watched a man with a lot of good knowledge and experience in many areas use a hacksaw with the blade in backwards. I couldn't believe it. The teeth were facing back so it only cut on the return stroke. But his strokes were the same - out and back - with the same pressure on the blade. The teeth are designed to cut in one direction only. The return stroke should be lifted. I learned that from my Uncle at the early age of 12.

I would have to agree, powersteering is more important than 4wd (imho). I have a IH3414 with backhoe attached. It is 2wd and will stall before running out of traction ( I admit it weighs about 9000lbs). It has power steering and when the belt that drove the powersteering pump broke I truly appreciated the need for it. A 2700 could have enough weight to operate a FEL if the rear is weighted to balance it out. (for info, my 3414's weight is almost balanced over the rear wheels. This makes for an interesting ride over rough ground if I attempt to go too fast.)

I agree that a small tractor is at a disadvantage with just 2wd using a loader. Doing loader work with my YM1301D would be more difficult without 4wd. On the other hand, I know of one guy who actually built a CadPlans loader and put it on his YM135 (U.S. equivalent of the YM1100). This is a very small tractor and only 2wd. He is tickled with the loader and tractor. I think it just depends on what you are used to, and what your expectations are. If you have no expectations, then you won't be disappointed.
