I just finished watching the RFDTV show which had plenty of information. Although, once the callers started asking questions, the answers were too vague. Some of the questions were not clear but the questions that were clear did not get answered to my satisfaction. Overall, there are some general rules of thumb for HP and implements, but none were discussed. I thought a simple question was how much HP to pull a 5' disk, but the question was evaded. For that show, John Deere should have had more technical people and less managers doing the presentation. Maybe John Deere can refine the show and be more prepared for the questions?

Just my opinion and I am not trying to express anything negative, but I think it could have been a better show.

I feel the same way. I was disappointed. They seemed to beat around the bush too many times. How hard is it to suggest a size of mower to mow 16 acres? I don't think they ever gave a definate answer to the toolbox question.

They should have shot the show at a dealer or at JD factory. They then could have showed the various size tractors and implements. The call in part of the show was a waste of time. Live show did not work well and could have been much better. Perhaps they will give Kubota a turn next.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It was an INFO MERCIAL, the Deere reps were more suited for spin control rather than actual knowledge. The phone-in questions really hurt them, the best spin of the night was in response to Deere being foreign made.

Most of all I would like to see more shows like that... Maybe they can do better next time and giving equal time to NH, Kubota, etc...

My sentiments exactly. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I forgot about that. When I heard someone ask about them being foreign made I just had to laugh at that. I like RFD-TV and even feel a little guilty about criticizing them, but this show was a big let down and seemed like it was slapped together at the last minute. It still amazes me how little the reps seem to know. Didn't one of them recommend a little 60hp tractor for someone wanting to bale 300 some acres? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I am still amazed that it takes 70 hp to run a 24 inch post hole auger. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I heard that too. I think my jaw hit the floor when she said that. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

My wife had to leave the room, I was yelling at those paper pushers so loud, the show (I missed the first part) during call in could have been so much better....Yes absolutely have technical experts from the big three sitting together and hash out those answers to really help not just buy green but be really informed. The lady from frontier (one of john deere's latest marketing mistakes) did not have clue one about the planters.

rant, rant, ..

I felt like calling in and answering the questions they blew off and to suggest to viewers to beg, borrow, or steal internet time to get here and search the internet as a whole, or simply call the dealer to answer some of those, questions, if the dealers blow you off, JD doesn't want you biz so go elsewhere.

And I never liked that host. rave, rave....

And RFDTV must have had some input from viewers or somewhere that producing a special show with small acreage owners in mind had some merit.

If I was Muhammad, I would be inquiring about advertising.

Now in they're defense, If you replaced a tractor that had rear remotes with a tractor that didn't, you have to ante up for some longer hose to reach the mid mount remotes.

Maybe they had more knowledge but the time needed to convey comprehensive answers would have taken away from other caller's time.
