Now in they're defense, If you replaced a tractor that had rear remotes with a tractor that didn't, you have to ante up for some longer hose to reach the mid mount remotes.

They didn't mention that you can't get rear remote kits for a 2210. I am sure that each person there was an expert in his/her field and probably could deal with model specific questions. They (RFDTV) had the potential for a killer show. It just should have been staffed differently, IMHO. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thinking more about the show, I think the tractor companies realize the demand for compact tractors but are forgetting the consumer. In the past, most tractor buyers were seasoned professionals in farming. It seems that the small family farm is in the minority while big agri-business and Eddie Albert farmers along with construction now make up the consumer market. They are not used to getting novice questions.

First off, does anyone really think a show sponsored by John Deere is going to promote OTHER brands? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Come on folks.....

A couple of the callers seemed to be looking to ask questions that were best left to a dealer parts man. They weren't questions pertaining to the topic at hand.

The sales reps Deere had on the show weren't ready to deal with anything OTHER than their "line of expertise". In retrospect, I'm sure they wish the calls would have been screened.

The show was SUPPOSED to be about selecting a tractor. It SHOULD have been made more clear that it was about selecting a COMPACT tractor.

RFD-TV's lack of experience in the production end of the business was evident. Deere's "short-comings", in regards to their choice of representitives, was a bit of a blunder too. I believe that, had it been MY job to pick the Reps, I would have gone with ONE person, and found someone with a stronger "personality".

All in all, the show was a minor fiasco. BUT.... like the old saying goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity..

I too thoguht they could have been better, But to there defence when they get a question like I want to mow 50 acres with hills, that could go a lot of ways. That could be depated here like what is the best oil.
It was run by John Deere though as you could tell, I did like how they tried to get the user into the dealers to get more of there questions answered.
If it was my show I would have picked one subject Tractors or impements. Or make 2 shows one on each & had someone go really indepth about tractors then asked them some "stock" questions from there web site they retrieved before.
But that was not my show nor did I have input so....

I flipped to it when I remembered it was on and they were explaining the TPH, and the Imatch. They showed the hookup of the Imatch with the lock levers in the up position and then promptly explained the when you hook it up be sure the levers are in the down/locked position. Another time I flipped over, they were explaining that you need to buy extension hoses to have remotes at the rear, that's when I gave up. I was totally dissapointed, hope they can do better next time. Hey, maybe let Ron Poppiel host next time, just a thought. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I wasn't that impressed either. It seemed most stuff they talked about was common knowledge. But, hey, it gave me something to do /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hey ..... Whats RFD-TV, most of us in the country can't even get it without getting a dish. My problem is with the network...very little distribution. If and when we ever get it, then I'll address the show content.. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

To me RFD still mean Rural Free Delivery from the US Post Office. hey I'm on a RFD route and still can't see the show...

TBN could offer up experts to help make it a better show. I'd guess even manufactors technical reps would be more worried of saying the wrong thing than just answering the question. I think someone like 'Bird' that has used a CUT and knows so much about tractors in general could add alot to a show like that.

Hows that sound Muhammad? Get TBN and RFD together!
