disc choice

i just got a ?towner? disc for parts to finish my 3 pt disc. now the problem is should i fix the pull behind offset or take it apart and use the parts i needed from it. its in pretty good shape only needs 2 spools.

If your working in tight areas, then fix the 3pt set. If in open areas where you can always drive through, then the pull set. The pull set will do a better job in my opinion. Best thing would be to have both sets in working order. Are you going to take any of this stuff back and forth to Colarado?

no its all going to stay here in Ramona. i think i will keep the frame from the pull behind and put the gangs on the one i choose to use. the bearings will bolt up to both the same. good memory Brian, I haven't been back to Colorado in 6 years i think.

Jon, were you able to find 6' or 7' wide disks and are they tandem or offset?

Just wondering.

yes i just got that 7 foot offset here in ramona and im fabricating the 3pt one. i picked up the offset for parts cause the guy said it was pretty beat up and needed new spools, but all it needed was 2 spacers. the gangs are the right size so ill be able to unbolt them ans swap between the two frames.

Cool, a lot of work, but nice that you will be able to do that.

yah ill prolly never switch it but it sounded good. by the way a log splitter works awesome for straightening a 1 1/8 inch axle on the disc
