Hello All,

As a recent CUT owner I am always looking at more attachments (toys) for my tractor. Is anyone here using a disc plow,,rather than the conventional moldboard plow for your yearly garden plowing? From what i have read you can pull a slightly bigger plow using a disc plow versus a moldboard model.
I was told the most my little Mitsubishi MT2501D would pull is two 12" in good black dirt. I was told getting into clay with 2-12's would bring the tractor to a stop very quickly, without extra weights hanging all over the tractor.
Anyone care to comment on good bad on thse plows?

Take Care,
BC

I would prefer to use a tiller for garden work in your case, the small discs that you could mount to your tractor can't get much done. Something like a King Kutter 48" tiller should be just right.

Agree with using a rotary tiller. Disc plows were actually among the first implements used for preparing ground. I have a King Kutter and it is a real work horse for my 27 hp tractor. If it gets bogged down, you can just lift it higher. If you want to use a plow, you will then need to disc over, because the plow will give you big dirt clods.
