Has anyone ever used a disc plow to work up dirt after cleaning brush? I have heard they are good in areas where roots could be a problem. Today I found a two disc 3pt model which I can purchase at a good price. Would my 3400 pull this? I would use it after pushing out mulit-flora rose bushes and hedge trees.

I don't know the stats on your 3400, but keep in mind that farmall cubs pulled single disc plows, and allis chalmers 'G's also pulled single disc plows. Thos tractors are 10-14 hp.

A ford N series will pull a standard 2 bottom plow 10-12-14 or a single 16. A for N is about 23-27 hp depending on where you measure it ( belt/drawbar/pto.. etc. ) I'd have to guess if your kubota is in that range. (25+hp ). you will be ok pulling that plow. Keep in mind that plowing really benefits from a draft sensing hitch.. but you can run it with plain position control.

I've always thought disc plows look neat.

I would venture a guess that it would. When I was young, we pulled one with a Farmall 140.
