PLEASE! I can't remember who I've buried where on my property, and a nice inventory would be in order.

Thanks for the offer. I didn't know how I could ever bring my problem to the TBN.

Hey - Go for it!

But just be gentle when you get to the part where you explain what you use the 30" cutoff saw, listed in your profile, for.

Hey Grim,
It looks like the vote is unanimous. So where are the pics? I'm dying *grin* to see 'em. Or were you just pulling my chain? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Guys:

OK, will do. Am leaving for vaca in a few days. Will do when back - check back in a couple weeks - will start a new thread to post stuff.

Henro: I will make note for any pics which might be "disturbing" to you so you will know not to download the attached pic.

Knucklehead: no, the 30" cut-off saw not used for that! We handle whole thing very respectfully - after all, it was someone's "loved one". I may be a vicious, sarcastic SOB but I take my work seriously.

JEH

PS One of the best "inside" movies about the industry is The Loved One with Jonathan Winters (playing two roles). Made in the 60s. Anyone interested should be able to rent it. Was made at Forest Lawn in LA, one of the first (and best) "commercial" cemetery/funeral home combinations. Spent a whole day touring the place back in the 70s.

Almost ready - in case anyone was wondering. Had to select pics, enough to "tell the story" yet not too many to overload the board, then reduce to the 100k max limit, then do the text (without re-writing my 100 page operations manual!!). In other words enough to get the steps out without overdoing it.

Anyway, everything is done and am letting it "sit" awhile before final edit. Should be up by next week.

What happened to the pictures? I swore I saw some here yesterday. I sensed a couple of folks were offended by what they saw. I personally felt that the "gore factor" was very low and grimreaper did a good job of showing what he does.
If a couple of "squeaky wheels" derailed the whole train, that is wrong.

I think the pictures were in another post, which was locked.
And it looks like now, the posts got deleted.

The thread was removed at the authors request. It was professionally done with ample warnings and of tractor relevance but some topics/aspects just don't lend themselves to civil discussion in a group this large.

Unfortunate in my view. One can turn the tv on and watch breast enhancements, commercials for Viagra, evening news, autopsies, bombs going off in the middle east or Tammy Faye... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif (now THAT caused me to shudder /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

It is "life" and in my view, to "hide" or "protect" some from life events is akin to burying ones head in the sand and only helps to increase the mystery and/or wow factor.

Just think... you can't drink/smoke until age of majority.. so what do many younsters want to do? I think if we were all raised with exposure to it, those same youngsters would be much more relaxed about it and it would be less interesting to "some" of them.

I've been around since near beginning of when this was "kubota.com" and by # of posts, dont talk much but I visit near every day.

In general, I think it's simply unfortunate in our society with everyone trying to please everyone and the PC crowd.

Some things in life are beautiful (for example, my wife), some things in life are ugly (for example, my backhoe) and some things in life are simply PART of life (death, taxes, disinternments)

I thought it was done with respect, it was done with disclaimers, it was done with FOREWARNING. People COULD have piped up during THIS thread and discussion. I do not recall seeing any objections prior to the posting.

Off my soapbox and scurrying back into my closet.

This is most unfortunate... I, for one, am/was very interested in learning more about what the Grimreaper does.... My neighbor whom I grew up living next to... was in the same profession...

For years, I, like so many other children thought that he was one to fear... having what a child might perceive as a scary job.

Now, I consider this nothing more than a professional sharing his talents with those of us who might be curious about the ongoing daily challenges of one in this profession.

It's a travesty that one would prevent this documentary from being shared based on what the evil CENSORS consider inappropriate.

I'm disappointed...
