Weld fins on one end of it, paint it, and put it in the front yard. Put a sign next to it: Danger scud missle. It will be missing by the following morning. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Used propane tanks, around here, sell for about $1 per gallon. Could be more than that, now that steel prices are up. It's not a problem getting a used tank filled as long as it'll pass a pressure test and has an up-to-date regulator.

Paint it and sell it.

won't work for him.. For one, he's not allowed to live near any useable road. Town has him tucked away so far off the beaten path it's a wonder he knows what electricity is.. Can't find the place even when given explicit directions.. I know from his backyard that a wetland area is several hundred yards off in the distance. I would repaint that tank, set it out there looking like a submarine is lost.. At least it will give him and visitors something to talk about.

Or he'll be missing and the next post from him will be from Guantanamo Bay

I would definatly check for any gas left! I suggest a MATCH dropped in the valve! if it is full we won't have to worry about the tank desposal then! lol. otherwise like others said, try sell or call local propane co;s for disposal. that would make one heck of a yard roller or even a black top steam roller after all the fittings are removed and welded up. lol.

I don't think the tank will ABSORB any propane as it will vaporize and disapate, if the valves are left open for a while. they COAT the insides with the liquid propane just to keep rust off it, as it (propane) is an oil type product and rust preventer. there should be 0 OX in side unless the valves are left open, then they will rust inside and be useless as a propane tank anylonger. would make one heck of a nice BBQ pit though. cut the sides for doors, and such but moving it you would need it's own wheels for sure. let us know when the PIG ROAST is. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
