Rest in Peace
Yep, I've seen that, Dave. When we go to WV, we usually stop for the night somewhere from Lebanon to Cookville; always try to get east of Nashville at least the first day.

So I proceeded to fill them in and reshaped them so that I could mow them with the tractor.
2*Looks better than the old ditch, there is nothing to tear a car up if they run off the road,
3*I can get to anywhere on my road right-of-way by just driving off the road where I want to be.
4*Best of all, no more weed-wacking along the road.

For the life of me, I can't understand why you dig up all of these old threads. Then you post on them like all of the members are still keeping up with the thread.
What sizes does this come in? Where can I get it?DONOTDELETE said:Rip Rap is large stone used for slowing the velocity of water and protecting the soil from erosion. If you have a ditch or channel that is eroding rip rap will stabilize it. It is not a surface that you would want to cut grass on. Creating large bowls made of rip rap at the end of ditches will prevent 60 -70 % of all sediments from being transported into a lake or pond. These bowls are called "Sediment Traps or Forebays" and they are used all the time. If anyone is unhappy with rip rap and would like a substitute lining for a storm water channel I would recomend a synthetic Erosion Control Blanket (EC-3) which is stapled to the bare soil and allows the grass to grow up through it. Properly installed it can perform the same function as rip rap.
I am employed in the environmental field, if anyone has a specific problem with erosion, ponds, lakes, etc, you can email me .
