Tractor
1988 Bolens/Iseki 1502, also Sears GT5000
Last fall I picked up a little Bolens/Iseki tractor. It's not a huge tractor, but I thought a carryall would be very handy for it. I have a bunch of 1.5x4x3/8 c-channel from an old pool that I think will work for this. (and I'm cheap)

My plan is to make a square out of 4 pieces, and use 2 pieces like forks welded to the bottom of that square. The sun came out long enough today to get going, so I got the metal cut. I'm basing the size off one I've seen, 27 inches wide, 36 inches tall and 33 inch forks.
I'll try to get picture as I get welding.

Am I missing anything important ?

Anxious to see your build.

The 3pt tower is important. Lot of stress there.

Your materials for framing the platform are definitely strong enough. Actually probably overkill. But I'm cheap too so use what you got!!!! :)

I've had some distractions pop up, but I've got it tacked together. Hopefully I will get on it with the stick welder this week.
I also typo'd the steel thickness - it's 3/16, but I think it's more than strong enough for what I should be doing with this tractor.

Finally put this to the test moving some logs around. Not sure what the bigger ones weigh, but it made the steering lighter.

If you get a lot of weight on rear, you may want to consider front ballast... No steering, the fun begins....

Come on! That's why tractors have TWO brake pedals. So you can steer when the front end is wagg'in.! '=o

Nice idea...and nice little tractor.
What did you do for the 3 point mounts? I cannot tell from the pics.

I used some 1/2 flat stock also from my old pool to make 2 tabs that come down from the top cross piece to tie to the top link. I bought a pair of cat 1 pins for the lower links and drilled holes into the uprights.
I've been moving a couple pallets around with the wood I split from those logs. I think I'll make a dressed up pallet with some sides that can be removed eventually to make it more versatile. So far I'm happy with it. It's a lot easier in among the trees than a wagon would be.
