I guess I had too much spare time this winter.

After trying to use my Toy trailer behind my truck, with no success backing up, it was time to be able to put it on the tractor. After searching around I found all sorts of 3pt hitches for things. After seeing a bunch of them, the combination of features I wanted started to jelll.
Here is what I came up with:

So far I don't have anything to different than what I could have bought.
I did all the design, cutting and painting. My neighbour did the welding. It was fun getting away from the keyboard and playing with heavy metal.

This is test of first version. works great!

This is what I had been using to manouver the trailer. Not much fun when it is loaded with dirt.

Another thing I had been using on my truck and wanted for the tractor was my $75 Costco special.

2500 lb rating, fairlead and remote control.
I cut off the wimpy 1-1/4" hitch bar and put on a 2" hitch bar.

Of course I wanted more. to top it off I made a top Hat for it.

For those of you with fifth wheel trailers you can imagine the fun I have backing my trailer down a 100 foot long driveway that is 8 feet wide. Bushes down both sides half the way. No mirrors allowed.

This makes it so easy to move around and get into tight places. I just have to remember that I can't necessarily get it out with the truck...

I was wondering how well my 3pt would lift the ~800lb pin weight.
I needn't have worried. the problem is to slow it down. the tractors 3pt didn't even feel the weight of the trailer.

Those of you paying attention will notice the addition of a second piece of hitch tube holding the top hat in the second picture.
This was to get more room for turning as my ROPS would hit the front of the trailer.
I should have been prepared for this as everyone knows you can't tow a fifth wheel with a quad cab dakota......

Oh yeah. that last picture also had the extra 2 inch reciever tube on the bottom. This allows the winch to sit down real low.

If that Dakota can tow it then you shouldn't have any issues moving it around the yard with your tractor.

Good job on your 3pt trailer hauler:)

This is what I use to tow with on the road.

Towin' with that, don't you get a crick in your neck, or do you use mirrors on your tractor, must have a faster reverse than mine, would make for a lot of seat time when on vacation.:D:D:D

No I was just loading the hitch into the truck with my new forks.
Real nice 10 seconds to put on the bucket. I found the limit of 900 lbs of 4x8 sheets. 1000 lbs and I couldn't curl the bucket.

Better be careful with that 5th wheel hookup in a turn. Don't get hurt!!!!
