I've done it, I bought a used (very used, very rusted) insulation
blower, and replaced the blower (it was thru blower type)
with a standard craftsman ELECTRIC leaf blower. Tye wrapped
it right on the hopper end.
It is rated for continous duty, it has lexan blades to shred small
sticks. I bought a second unit when they were on sale again
as a back up. I ran it for probably 2 hours straight.
If you have a local cellulose insulation company (the actual guys that
grind up the paper) you can ussually get your cellulose cheaper
than at the "big box" stores, hence the reason to find your
own machine. For me it worked out that the box stores where $8.20
for a 23lb bag, verse $5.80 for a real 30 lb. bale from the local.
