DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone questions

DJI does have the "Follow-Me" feature. You can select it to follow any object you wish. It will follow until it hits the auto-return point (battery low) point, or until you direct it otherwise.

Or it hits something. I tried this once following my dog. It did great, until i had to stop it from following the dog thru the trees.

My brother brought his new DJI drone (don't know the model) up to my place to try it out. He couldn't get it off the ground. After much investigation, it turns out I live within 5 miles of a mom & pop airport and my land is in a geofenced area.

I would very much like to get a drone, but not if I can't fly it in my own back yard. Are there any <259gr models that don't have geofencing?

It looks like this company doesn't do geofencing. Not sure what their drones weight.

This is a little misleading. 250g and above only requires $5 registration for every 3 years. If you are commercial you need a license. But personal use only requires registration.

Remote id is not an issue with new drones. All of them transmit all the time.

OK, I went and re-researched. You are correct, 250g and above only requires the reg. fee for recreational flying!

I may look into a bigger drone again. I was put off by the part 107 of the larger drone.

I ordered it this morning. Amazon says it will be here on Wednesday, a week from today. Seems like a long time to get something from Amazon, but it is what it is.

I did the 12 months, zero interest option for about $115 a month. I'll probably pay it off in a couple months, but it's nice to not have to spend it all at once.

I think my DJI Mini-Pro 3 flies at about 35mph, 11 mile range and 400' ceiling. I'm afraid to let it go out to 11 miles though - last time I got a "Internet Connection Lost" comment on the screen. Fortunately the drone was smart enough to go into Return To Home mode, so all the fear was for naught

Longer lasting batteries would sure be a plus. Maybe litium batteries are forthcoming?

UPS delivered it about an hour ago. He required a signature, so he drove up to the house to get it. I'm glad, because I would of never known he was at the gate if he hadn't made that extra effort.

It came with two charging cables. One for the batteries, and one for the controller. Each cable is different, but I need the same cables to charge each thing. I had to search through the house to find one that worked. It's just a hair bigger then a phone charger.

Charging is supposed to take 150 minutes for the controller. I'm going to do a few things, and hopefully try it out this evening.

Does yours stop at 400’? My mini will go higher than 400’
