DK 40-Anyone Using This Model?

I have read lots of posts on the DK45 but can't find any mention of the 40. Would like to hear comments from anyone that has one and also wondering about a ballpark figure on the 40 with a loader? The closest dealer I can find is 38 miles away (I live in central Pa) so that might also be a problem.

I know it's not your first post, but welcome to the forum.
While I don't have a DK40, I can comment on them as I am fairly familiar with the model.
The DK40 is not much more than a DK35 with 5more HP. That said, I personally would not pay the difference between the two, but would consider the difference of a DK35 and DK45. The 45 being my choice between the two for various reasons mostly having to do with sloped hood, and many more features.

The DK35 is a tough tough tractor with plenty of power and is very reliable. The DK40 should not be any different in that respect, but you must decide if 5HP is worth whatever the difference in price is.

I'm sure there are some 40 users out there that can give you personal experience, which probably won't be much different than that of 35 users such as DK35Vince who probably has more hours on his 35 than many others, and has reported great satisfaction.

I bought a DK40 almost 4 years ago and have about 160 hours on without any problems.Mine has the 1470 loader and R4 tires.My reason for picking the DK40 over a DK35 was it seemed like a larger tractor(bigger and heavier) and it has a 4cylinder engine vs 3cylinder in the DK35.I'm not a mechanical person so my reasoning may not seem logical to some but its' worked for me so far.Pricing was around $17,000 about four years ago.I live in Michigan with a dealer about 10 miles away.
