How difficult to replace belt, and...

Sounds/looks like I need a new alternator belt on our X748. Will look more closely at it when I get back home but wondering how difficult a task replacing this belt might be? Haven't been able to find any info specific to this model.

Also, can't figure out how to search for any info in this "John Deere Lawn & Garden" forum specifically! Probably something simple I'm missing but haven't been able to figure it out.

What is leading you to think a new alternator belt?

Usually the alternator will just pivot away to loosen enough to get the belt off. Should not be difficult. Let us know if you run into a problem, and post a pic or two.

I'd suggest you have the service tech manual, as it will help you avoid a trip to the dealer and likely save you money.
